"Welcome to the most exciting wildlife community on the web!"

Whether you take the occasional snap or video clip in your garden, or travel to the other side of the planet filming exotic creatures and locations, there’s a place for you here as part of the Amateur Wildlife Filmmakers Network!

As you’ve probably read elsewhere on the AWFN site our goal is to help you get the most out of your interest in watching, filming or photographing wildlife and the natural world.

We plan to do this by offering you some amazing deals and interesting content on this site and by taking advantage of the boom in social networking sites across the web.

We’re not trying to replace or compete with sites like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter , Vimeo, TalkWildlife or Flickr. In fact, our aim is to use those sites to help build the AWFN into the common point of reference for wildlife enthusiasts across all online social networks.

What does the AWFN website offer?

The AWFN Website forms a single point of reference for all our members across all the linked social networking sites on the web as well as offering exclusive video tutorials, features, articles, exciting competitions and some amazing deals in our online store and from some of our commecial members.

What are the AWFN Network Buttons and where do I find them?

At the bottom of each page you will find a row of quick link buttons to each of the leading social media sites currently included within the Amateur Wildlife Filmmakers Network.

Network Button Key:

Facebook – is the largest and most widely used social networking site on the web. It lets you connect with friends, co-workers, and others who share similar interests or who have common backgrounds. Come and join the AWFN Facebook Group, make new friends and share your wildlife adventures!

Twitter – is a social networking and microblogging service that allows you to answer the question, "What are you doing?" by sending short text messages 140 characters in length, called "tweets", to your friends, or "followers." It’s very easy to use and is a great way to keep all your AWFN buddies up to date with your latest wildlife sightings and activities.

Don't forget you can update your Twitter status directly from TalkWildlife.com

Follow the AWFN on Twitter and we’ll follow you too.

Vimeo – is a video sharing website similar in many ways to Youtube. However there are several key differences. Unlike Youtube where you will find lots of low quality clips of TV programmes, gaming videos and other copied material, Vimeo only allows original content created by the user and provides higher quality encoding of your uploaded video making it much more pleasant for the viewer to watch. When you purchase your AWFN membership you will also be invited to join the AWFN Vimeo User Group. This is a great place to share your videos with others and discuss your projects, tips and tricks in the forum.

Talkwildlife.com – is a complete social networking site brought to you by the AWFN, specifically for those interested in watching, filming and photographing wildlife. You’ll find a host of brilliant features to help you stay in touch with your friends including….

  • Create and customise your own home page.
  • Add your own videos and photos. (You can link your Flickr account to automatically update your TalkWildlife pages with your latest photos!)
  • Automatically update your Twitter status from your TalkWildlife page.
  • Create your own blog.
  • Join in the discussions in the forum.
  • Add events, shows or exhibitions into the Events section.
