Eleonas Hotel

Earlier this year I had a flying (literally) visit to Evia island in Greece. I was invited in a consultancy capacity by Marina and Stefanos Vallis, the owners of Eleonas an agroutouristik (rural) hotel. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I had only been to Greece once before and that was on a (very rare) holiday.

I had just one full day to help them identify the wildlife that lived around the hotel and its environs, and make suggestions to encourage more, so I was up before dawn wandering in the olive groves surrounding the hotel drinking in the sound of birdsong in particular the magnificent Nightingale.
